RESOLUTIONS


1) EASTICA wishes to express its gratitude for the support and cooperation from all members in carrying out its program of activities in the past two years since our last Conference in 2017..

2) During the 14th General Conference, EASTICA has elected the new Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, and Executive Board members for a 4-year term, from 2019 to 2023, with immediate effect as follows: Chairman: Mr. Wang Shao Zhong (National Archives Administration of China)
Vice-Chairman: Pr. Soyon LEE (National Archives of Korea)
Treasurer: Dr. Choi Jaehee (Republic of Korea)
Board Member: Mr. KATOH Takeo (National Archives of Japan)
Board Member: Ms. Lau Fong (Archives of Macao)
Board Member: Mr. Enkhabaatar Samdan
Board member: Ms. Luk Yuk0shan (GRS Hong Kong)

3) EASTICA awarded an honorary membership to Mr. Simon Chu to recognize his contribution to the development of professionalism in East Asian region and great devotion to EASTICA for 22 years.

4) EASTICA wishes to express its great gratitude to Mr. Katoh Takeo of the National Archives of Japan for his excellent service to EASTICA as a Chairman of EASTICA from 2015 to 2019.

5) The Postgraduate Certificate Program in Archival Studies (PCAS) was held in Beijing in June 2019 and the new Postgraduate Diploma program in Archival Studies (PDAS) was held in Hong Kong in October 2019.
EASTICA has resolved to continue working with the University of Hong
Kong in arranging future PCAS and PDAS courses on archives management.

6) EASTICA endorsed Ms. Luk Yuk-shan, the Director General of the Government Records Service of Hong Kong SAR Government as a new Executive Board Member.

7) EASTICA is pleased to accept the following institutions as its new Category C members:
i) (Category C) School of Information Resource Management,
Renmin University of China
ii) (Category C) Fujian Provincial Archives

8) EASTICA continues its commitment to upholding professionalism in archival institutions, to promoting the dissemination of archival
knowledge and culture, and to meeting the challenges posed by emerging technologies, the changing political and economic environment and natural disasters.

9) EASTICA wishes to express its gratitude to Dr. Anthea Seles, Mr. Lawrence Brewer, and Dr. Takano Akihito for their presentations of professional expertise to the General Conference.

10) EASTICA continues to support professional cooperation and communication among its members and with other archival communities around the world.

11) EASTICA wishes to convey its great appreciation to the National Archives of Japan for making the 14th General Conference of EASTICA a notable
success and a memorable occasion for all participants. EASTICA also wishes to thank the National Archives of Korea to be a host of 2020 EASTICA seminar.
